Every log that does not become a cant becomes chips. We produce clean balsam wood chips as a byproduct of milling and truck them locally to a pellet plant.
Chips that close the loop
Wood chips are the direct result of Seaton Forest Products running at a hundred percent wood utilization. When a dry balsam log comes through the cant sawmill at 7865 BC-16 W, everything that does not become a squared cant or a rough-cut board becomes clean chips. The chips truck to a local pellet plant, keeping the whole resource in use and nothing going to landfill or burn pile. We have been operating this way since we opened in 2016.
