Sawmill Lumber Serving BC
Seaton Forest Products is a British Columbia cant sawmill on Highway 16, west of Smithers in the Bulkley Valley. We have been milling dry balsam into solid timber since 2016.
A small mill with a BC-wide reach
We mill dry balsam: the logs left burnt or behind in the bush that larger mills will not take. Every log leaves the yard as squared cants for finished lumber or as chips bound for a local pellet plant, so nothing is wasted.
The bulk of our cants travel south to a remanufacturing partner in Langley, where they become finished lumber. A portion stays here for local customers across northern BC. Wherever the wood ends up, it starts on Highway 16.
Timber products we mill
- Dry balsam cants: square-milled timbers in seven cross-sections from 4x4 to 12x12.
- Two-inch rough-cut boards: lifts in random widths and lengths.
- Wood chips: bulk, by the trailer, to a local pellet plant.
We are a roughly twenty-five person crew, three out of four of whom are First Nations, working one yard with a steady rhythm of trucks in and trucks out.
